FEEL BETTER, STRONGER AND MORE CONFIDENT AT ANY AGE

At 59, I feel better than I did in my 30s. And it didn’t happen by accident.

For years, I focused mainly on looking muscular. But as I moved through my 30s and 40s, my energy declined, my waistline grew, and my health and fitness slipped. At 50, I made a change—and it transformed how I approach aging.

Here are nine lessons that made a difference:

  1. Educate yourself. Understand the science behind fitness and longevity instead of blindly copying someone else's workout.

  2. Train with purpose. Be present, focused, and intentional with every workout.

  3. Keep moving. Walking, rucking, and everyday activity matter just as much as time in the gym.

  4. Prioritize protein. Adequate protein supports muscle growth and helps preserve lean mass.

  5. Supplement intelligently. Focus on evidence, quality, and what makes sense for your needs.

  6. Train specifically. Balance strength, muscle development, and cardiovascular fitness.

  7. Focus on quality reps. Control your movements and keep tension on the muscles you're training.

  8. Respect recovery. Muscle growth requires more than hard workouts; your body needs time to adapt.

  9. Practice being present. Meditation and mindfulness have brought me greater peace, confidence, and quality of life.

Your body isn't finished after 50. This is an opportunity to become stronger, healthier, and more confident than ever.

I'm 59 and still building. Your best years don't have to be behind you.
